Assistant Professor
College of Health Solutions, Arizona State University
Min-Hyun Kim is an Assistant Professor of Nutrition at Arizona State University. Min received his PhD from the University of Florida (Nutritional Sciences), and completed a post-doctoral training at the University of Michigan Medical School (Physiology), where he studied the epigenetic regulation of leptin signaling pathways.
Min started his own lab in 2022. His research group has an array of interests related to the epigenomic and transcriptional control of energy metabolism, with a specific focus on metabolic hormones such as leptin, insulin, and GLP-1.
Ph.D. student in Exercise and Nutritional Sciences
Busayo holds a BS and a MS degree in Physiology from Olabisi Onabanjo University and the University of Ibadan, respectively. Hailing from Nigeria, he is currently a doctoral student in Exercise and Nutritional Sciences at Arizona State University.
Busayo has worked as a Lecturer at Lead City University, Nigeria, where he successfully supervised 11 undergraduate projects and dissertations. He has also conducted various studies in neuroscience using rodents. Busayo's current research interest is in neuroscience and endo-metabolism, and he educates the public on nutritional habits for healthy living through his social media platforms.
Ph.D. student in Exercise and Nutritional Sciences
Smita holds a BSc in Zoology from University of Delhi and a MSc degree in Biotechnology from Shoolini University. She is from India, and currently a doctoral student in Exercise and Nutritional Sciences at Arizona State University.
Smita has conducted various studies in bioinformatics using in-silico approaches to combat hypertension, as well as dissertation research on fungal endophytes for drug discovery, with focus on their anti-cancer properties. Her current research interests lie in epigenetic regulation of energy metabolism and metabolic hormones like Leptin, using rodent models.
B.S. student in Biomedical Sciences at Barrett, The Honors College
I'm a Barrett Biomedical Sciences student with interests in endocrine physiology. Outside of academic work, you can see me exploring new places, trying out new cuisines, thrift shopping, and taking lots of pictures of scenery and wild animals.
B.S. student in Biological Sciences at Barrett, The Honors College
Hello, my name is Zaid, and I’m an honors undergraduate student majoring in Biological Sciences. My research interests include metabolism and diabetes, among other fields. Through my lab experience, I hope to develop a deeper understanding of how researchers approach scientific questions and solve complex problems, while also contributing to meaningful discoveries. In the long term, my goal is to become a physician who has the tools necessary to integrate research into patient care for better outcomes.
